About Us

Welcome to the Birmingham Area Tuskegee Alumni Association's information site. The alumni association supports Tuskegee University, its ideals and programs, and is committed to increasing the number of alumni actively involved with the university. We understand the importance of keeping you informed and presenting you the opportunity to network with fellow Tuskegeeans.

The Birmingham Area Tuskegee Alumni Association annually awards up to $4,000 in scholarship funds to a Birmingham metropolitan area high school student to attend Tuskegee University. Funds for the scholarship are made possible by contributions and fund raising efforts of the alumni association.

We provide an opportunity for high school students to visit Tuskegee University during its Open House for high school students. Birmingham metropolitan area students are invited to take a bus trip to the university where students get a chance to have an on campus college experience. More importantly, students are able to acquire written information about Tuskegee and have the opportunity to ask college officials questions. Participants are charged a nominal fee to cover the transportation cost.

The alumni association commits itself to community involvement. Along with other individuals and organizations, members of the alumni association voluntarily participate in the Christmas gift wrap fund raiser for Grace House, a group home for girls from Jefferson and adjacent counties.
