Local Founder's Day Celebration

Birmingham Area Tuskegee alumni celebrated Founder's Day on March 25, 2018 with a program at St. Paul AME Church, Smithfield. Several members of the Tuskegee University Administration were speakers, including Regina Burden, Vice President for Student and Enrollment Management, Harold "Kippy" Tate, vice President for Facilities and Construction and Krystal Floyd, Development Director. A reception with refreshments was held after the program. See photos.

Tuskegee National Nursing Assoc. Cruise

The Tuskegee National Nursing Alumni Association is sponsoring an alumni cruise October 14 - October 21, 2018. See cruise overview, booking form 1, and booking form 2. Additional information can be found on the web page of the Association at more information.

Membership Form

A revised membership form has been developed and is now in effect. It now has three membership levels: Basic Tiger - Membership only; Crimson Tiger - A Basic Tiger with a certain designated contribution level to the Parade of Clubs and Club Scholarship; Golden Tiger - A Basic Tiger with a certain designated contribution level to the Parade of Clubs and Club Scholarship. The form can be accessed by the Membership link on this page's menu.

Payments and contributions can now be made online by clicking the donate button on this page.

2018 Scholarship Contributions

Contributions to the Birmingham Area Tuskegee Alumni Scholarship Foundation (BATASF) for the scholarship to be awarded to a graduating high school student who plans to attend Tuskegee University in the fall of 2018 are now being received. Contributions are tax deductible. Check contributions may be mailed to the club's post office box shown on the top of this page or made at the upcoming club meeting on May 20. Checks should be made out to BATASF. Contribution can also be made online using the "Donate" button on this page. When using this method, note that the donation is for the scholarship.

Tuskegee University Tour

Tuskegee University alumni Ralph and Deidre Sims took 29 Carver High School (Birmingham) students and 3 administrators, including Tuskegee alumna Cecelia Phillips, to tour the Tuskegee University campus on October 31, 2017. The tour guide was Senior Mechanical Engineer major, Reginald Battle, who did an awesome job. See photos.

Freshman Reception

On Monday, August 7, the Birmingham Area Tuskegee Alumni Association held its annual Freshman Reception in the Fellowship Hall of Sixth Avenue Baptist Church. Incoming freshmen, parents, current Tuskegee students and alumni enjoyed fellowship, fun, and food. Event photos

Christmas Party Date

The rescheduled date of the alumni Christmas party is December 22. The time of 7-11 p.m. and the Bessemer Civic Center venue remains the same. See you there.

2017 TNAA National Day of Service

The Tuskegee National Alumni Association's National Day of Service was observed by the Birmingham Area Tuskegee Alumni Association on April 29. As in 2016, its project was "Saving Plastic to Help Save Lives", that involved saving plastic water bottles and other recyclable friendly plastic to support a program for the early detection of breast cancer.

18th TNAA Convention

The 18th Biennial Convention of the Tuskegee National Alumni Association will be held August 2-5 in Westchester, Ohio. Housing for convention delegates will be at the Holiday Inn. 2017 Scholarship Recipients

The Birmingham Tuskegee Alumni Association held its annual scholarship program on June 11 in the Fellowship Hall of Sixth Avenue Baptist Church. Scholarships were awarded to students in the Birmingham area who plan to enter Tuskegee University as freshmen in the fall 2017 class. Receiving the Birmingham Tuskegee Alumni one-time scholarship was Juanita January of Ramsay High School. Receiving the Horace and Barbara Huntley Scholarship was Jonathan Thornton of Shades Valley High School. Receiving the Robert and Mildred Dickerson Scholarship was Trevor Baldwin of Thompson High School. Receiving the Birmingham Tuskegee Alumni four year scholarship was Taelor Allen of Huffman High School.

2017 Football Schedule

Tuskegee University has published its 2017 football schedule. The football rivalry with Alabama State will resume on September 2 at Alabama State. Tuskegee will play Jackson State in the 5th Quarter Classic in Mobile, AL on October 14. See the entire football schedule for a listing of all games.
